Default I jumped in the pool

With the help of all of you "Seasoned" straight shavers, I just purchased my first blade. This is what I decided on:

PRESHARPENED DOVO Bone Handle "Bismarck" 6/8

    and I also purchased:

DOVO "Extra Wide" Russian Leather Strop

I'll keep you posted on how the shaving goes.

Congrats on taking the plunge. The only thing I would add,,,, consider not only taking your time on the shave, but also just shave your sides. Leave your chin out of this equation as it is the toughest to learn to shave. After you get comfortable with the shaving processes, you can add the rest of your face. In this way you can develop "touch". HAVE FUN.

Welcome! Take it easy and don't rush. Getting the feel of these straight razors takes alittle time. Enjoy!

    Default Thanks for the advice

Thanks for all the advice. I should receive the razor on Wednesday evening so I can start out Christmas Day with a fresh, straight shave.
