Thread: First Purchases

Well, I have bought my first two razors.
First is a Double Arrow off of Ebay. I know it's not shave ready--I will either be looking for a honemeister soon, or saving it for when I learn to hone myself.

Second is a Kropp 6/8 half hollow off of a guy on B&B. he seems to know what he's doing, and he put a new bevel on it and honed it up before selling it. So it should be shave ready when it gets here. I might want to rescale it, though...

Now, i just need a strop--probably get a TM when he opens back up. I'm dead excited!

Congrats on your purchases Jim!! You are well on your way to the right way to shave, and are doing it correctly. In all the excitement, however, remember that straight razor shaving requires another skill set that can only be acquired through experience. Take your time. You will be rewarded by shaves that you have never experienced. I know how exciting it is!! It took a few months for me, but I am now achieving that BBS!!
