Thanked: 0FIRST STRAIGHT RAZOR SHAVE ON XMAS DAY
Hello Everyone,
let me say Firstly Marry Christmas to you all, well I choose today to have my first straight razor shave, so I though I'd let you know how it went after having my shower, ( preparation of brush and everything else I done before hand ) so anyway I lathered up and everything ..so far so good them I opened the razor I wasn't scared well ....!! anyway I started shaving, the first stroke I made I just took ONLY shaving cream off , then I tried again .. and the same thing as before shaving cream again.. NO HAIR.. I was think what THE HELL..!!, so i angled the blade at that 30° angle or so and it all started to happen.. form there I STARTED TO SHAVE, I took my time.. I shave 1st the right side with my right hand then the left side with my left hand (man using the left hand was a bit scary ) but in the end I got it done. I did not shave against the grain or anything like that because I though I should quit while I was ahead, I will leave that for another day, don't want to butcher myself, but I done two passes with the razor and I survived my first shave, I AM SO PLEASED WITH THE RESULT.. this can only get better with practice.
Thank You all for listing

Congratulations and welcome to SRP. You are already doing better then me. I only shave with the right hand. You have given me inspiration to begin to train my left hand.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Welcome! Great job and congrats on the first real shave of your life!
Make sure to use a light touch as you graduate to XTG and ATG passes.

Thanked: 0FIRST STRAIGHT RAZOR SHAVE ON XMAS DAY
Gents thank you all for your support,
I have been making this transition from tipple blade disposables for almost a year since my friend told me about straight razor shaving, and while visited many sites to get info. this site fulfilled my every need, I learnt so much here before becoming a member, that mentally I was prepared to use a straight razor in my mind (if you all understand what i mean), this site is incredible.
So thank you Mr Lynn for creating this Mecca of straight shaving.
when I am lost and have shaving problems I always find the answer here...this is a good thing
Thank you everyone
