    Your question about hones is natural. The answer as with most things is that it depends. The Norton 4/8K is very versatile but it may not be the best hone if you just want to keep the final polish on your razor in great shape. For this, I would recommend something more like a Belgian yellow coticule.

    Sorry, got to chime in here and say first off that I am sbrouwers lil brother that sorta beat him to the wonders of the straight razor.......although he did pick up his Dovo before I got my Wapi. and thanks to him I am hooked as well. I guess you guys have pumped him full of great info and he has pointed me in the right direction so I would like to say thank you to the whole board.

    I might suggest a cheap razor to practice on also.
    You make a mistake - no loss.
    You get it shave ready - ya got another razor in the rotation.
