It will need honing, just stropping will not be enough.
You can find reliable, professional razor honers listed in the Classifieds. I highly recommend sending it out for at least the first honing, that way you will know you have a sharp razor to learn with.
Do not take it to a knife sharpening shop. Very few othem know what a straight razor is, or how to sharpen it for shaving.

yes it will need to be honed dovo does advertise thier razors to be shave ready from the factory but very rareley does this ever happen but look here for a honemeister http://http://straightrazorpalace.co...wcat.php/cat/4

Welcome to SRP! One of two things are wrong either your technique or your razor, probably both, but youcant improve your technique with a razor that wont shave. Although the razor is sharp its probably not shaving sharp, it needs to be honed.PM sent.

Well, it has been said above but just in case you are not convinced yet, get your razor sharpened by one of our honemeisters. When you get it back, make sure you review the threads on stropping before taking your razor to a strop. It is easy to ruin the edge on a piece of leather believe it or not.

When you get it back make sure you save it for shaving. Future callous removal may cause damage to the edge!
