Thanked: 0My introduction & mucho preguntas!
Hello, My name is emm... Lets just go with Heiheit for now. I am completely new to Straight razors and safety razors. How new you may ask? Well, I don't even own one yet. Sadly, I use a Fusion with Edge shaving cream (most of you will despise me for this). Before i shave, i clean my face with some Zirh Clean and afterwards put some Grey Flannel after shave and aloe on. The reason I'm here is to say that shaving for me is... Boring and unenjoyable. I'd love to start shaving like a real man! Personally, I'd love to start with a straight razor. So, here is my question, What would a good Straight razor be for me? and shaving soap or cream? What brush should i use? and after shave? I'm sorry for being such a noob and i know someone will say, "JUST GOOGLE IT!"... meh. And fyi, my skin isn't terrible sensitive or full of acne, I usually learn quit and only ever got one knick.
Thanks for the help ahead of time

There is no such thing as a beginners razor or a beginners brush. Its all a matter of what you like. best bet is buy a quality razor, hollow ground either 5/8s or 6/8s. What is a quality razor? Thats a tall question. Probably one not made in pakistan or India and with few exceptions China. As far as a brush goes get a med sized best badger.
Thats very general advice. maybe someone else will come along with something more specific for you.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Welcome, Heiheit
Look to the classifieds and the vendors here. You'll get good tools no matter what you choose there.

A big +1 to this! You can also check out Sue's place (Mama Bear) for soap. She has a large following here also. I'd check the classifieds first (or Kenrup) for your first razor. You will be getting a quality razor at a very reasonable price. Our members have reputations to protect so you won't be getting junk. Plus, it will likely be shave ready (it will be so indicated in the ad). If you insist on getting a new razor then check out Straight Razor Designs, Vintage Blades and Classic Shaving. The latter 2 will require an extra charge to hone it for you. But that's only $20 so it's very reasonable (your face will appreciate it).

+1 on Danny. All advice above is good. Just to add one small bit. Read through the WIKI. You 'll see it at the top of this page just under Straight Razor Place and next to the Forum link. Ask lots of questions. There are no stupid questions if you are sincere.
