HI,CAN ANYONE HELP ME FIND OUT MORE ABOUT MY DADS OLD COMMANDO KNIFE.I HAVE SEARCHED THE WEB BUT DONT SEEM TO HAVE GOT ANY JOY IN IDENTIFYING IT.ON THE BLADE IT IS ENGRAVED ABRAM BROOKSBANK MALINDA WORKS SHEFFIELD.INSIDE THE SIRCLE IT HAS A CANNON AND THE WORD DEFIANCE WRITTEN THERE.THIS IS A LOVELY KNIFE THAT I HAVE HAD ALL MY LIFE,DAD WAS IN THE NAVY BUT WAS NOT A COMMANDO JUST A SAILOR I THINK.ANY HELP AT ALL WILL BE GREAT.

Better off asking your question here British Blades :: Custom Knife Making post a photo in the Oriental and Historical section if you can. Sounds like an interesting knife by the way, Id be interested to see pics myself

Abrams Brooksbank was in business from 1849 to 1953
The firm was on Milton street, Sheffield England! They manufactured Bowie knives and other cutlery!
I would love to see a picture! I am betting its a bowie type knife from the latter half of the 1800's!

almost looks like a old bayonet it got to be good steel since its from sheffield i would hone it and shave with that bad boy
