I've been poking around at getting into all this for a while and have managed to dip my toe in just a bit at this point. I cheaped out and bought a disposible blade straight razor to try this whole thing out before I and my wallet take the plunge.

Two things I noticed after my first shave were: Yes, this IS awesome. And razor burn, ouchie. The second day was even more harsh, then I began to wonder to myself, is this disposible blade really sharp enough to shave with? Or is my technique the problem? So that's where my questions come from.

Do disposible blades need to be stropped before use, or are they sharp enough on their own?

Can you strop a disposible blade to prolong it's life?

How many shaves on average should you be able to get out of a disposible before replacing the blade?

Thanks!
