Thanked: 0Looking for a SE to trim goatee, etc.
I am a DE shaver, but wanted a straight for goatee trimming. Can anyone recommend the right size AND length of blade. For blade length, I'm thinking 2 3/4". I've been using a disposable straight touchup razor, but want to "graduate". Does anyone have one available that is shave ready?

J.W., welcome to SRP!
Sounds like a 5/8 razor suiots your needs. Check the classifieds. There are skads of them there...

Thanked: 13245Being one that has facial hair, I can recommend a few things about a razor for you...
5/8 as Dan stated above is about perfect... a full hollow grind, and a spike point...
These things allow you to actually slice one hair at a time if you want too...
You can create straight lines and tight square corners with this type of razor....
It has to be EXTREMELY sharp.... "sorta sharp", "it shaves good" "it's really smooth" does not cut it for this type of work... Wicked sharp is what you need, so that if it even just touches a errant hair, it pops it right off yer face.... There really is no shaving stroke for trimming work, it is just tiny little cuts to straighten up the lines....
