    Default Full Wapi Shave

Well I had my first full shave with the wapi. I used a little too much pressure and got a few nicks. No Biggy, I have styptic swabs and it's not the first time I nicked myself shaving. Lather came out little to wet, but I fixed that on the next pass. From one Newbie to others..... Take your time, don't force the shave, relax and enjoy.

    My Set-up is.

    Razor: 6/8 Wapi
Brush: Van Der Hagen 100% Boar hair
    Soap: Van Der hagen Deluxe
    Bowl: Stone ware soup bowl
    Soap Dish: Rubbermaid w/lid
    Cut care: Styptic swabs
A/S: Baby oil ( for the nice kool feeling)
Strop: Home made from latigo Leather ( little thin in the width, but it will do for now)

My strop is little small but if I go slow and take my time it will be fine for now. I am waiting on a strop.
If You ( newbies ) have any question, Please ask a member that has been doing this for sometime. They are here to help and talk about Str8 Razors. Remember: The only dumb question, Is the one that doesn't get asked....

That looks like a decent start up kit right there. Enjoy!

I did my first full straight shave last night and came away with a pretty good shave. This was the first time that I had done a straight shave from the water prep to the soap to the actual shave. Drew no blood anywhere, but the double edge still had to help out on the chin area, nowehere else. I am looking foward to the point where the straight can take over for the eight doble edges that I have in the shave den.
