Just joined today. I'm left handed. Do I need a specially made razor?

    Welcome to SRP

No, you don't need a "lefty" razor. As a matter of fact, most of us (I wonder if it is "most," actually, but a good number of us, including me) shave with both hands. Learning to use your "off" hand take s a little practice, but hell, this whole thing takes a little practice.

Hi, welcome, no, you dont. Straight razors are symmetrical, anyway.

One made truly shave ready by a member here, preferably by a member who hones razors for other members. Check the "Buy Sell Trade" forum here.

Yup...in the classifieds (see link at top of page), look for an inexpensive razor (probably under $65 or so) that is listed as "Shave ready." Ideally, it would be by one of the guys who list their services (in the classifieds as well) as a honemeister. These are, however USUALLY (not always, though) alittle more expensive. On the plus side, if for any reason it's not for you, these are usually in nice shape and you should be able to recover most, if not all, of your investment if you re-sell it.

As soon as I am a little better at honing, I have a few razors I intend to get out there very inexpensively. Given my last attempts at honing, that might be a while!
