Thanked: 5Newbie introduction
Hello all,
I've been hauting the forums a while and have gotten the bug... Long story short. I got a Dovo from SRD, and a strop from classic, a hand me down brush and mug from dad.... Three total shaves, with two nicks and one cut... and a happy camper. I am beginning to realize the relaxing therapy of the shave... some nice morning ritual. (afternoon for me!) The closeness of the shave is improving, and I suspect it will get better with practice...
I really just wanted to say thanks for all the nice folks who take the time to share knowledge and their experiences. I'd never had the courage to pick up a staight razor without the information I found on this site.
Oh and I've noticed something else, even though I'm very pleased with my new razor, I can't stop looking and lusting at classifieds..... ( If I start another hobby my wife will kill me!!)
Thanks to all,
Brock

Welcome, Brock
Hitting the ground running, eh?
Just remember, razors are an investment, not an expense. I mean, how else are you supposed to find out which blades you like?

First, welcome to SRP!
Here is another approach. This is one of the few areas where you can buy a vintage item, use it for a while and sell it for at least as much as you paid. One of our members (Traveler) that refurbishes blades guanantees that he will buy his work back from you at the purchase price assuming that you have not damaged it.

Welcome, I'v ben shaving for about two months. I think you need a couple of older Ebay razors so you can practice honing & another new one to compare how sharp they all should be LOL. Try that one hahaha
