    Default Bought my first razor and strop!

    Hi everyone! I wanted to see what people think of this purchase. Likes, dislikes, experiences, please let me know what you guys think of these products and if they're worth using. I purchased a C-Mon Cadillac 5/8 with an Illinois strop. I don't plan on starting with straight razors until next week so I want to make sure I'm starting up the right way. I also got a George Wostenholm & Sons 4/8 that needs some TLC to get back up and running.

    As long as your razor is honed and the leather on your strop is not cracking from dryness you're good.
    Nice razor btw.

    +1 with gugi! You didn't say where you got your C-MON. Unless you bought from the classifieds, or someone you know that actually shaves with straights, the blade is not shave ready. In that case I'd send it out to one of our honemeisters. You can find them in the classifieds.
