Thanked: 0honemeister ?
Ok this may be a stupid question. But, where can I find a honemeister? A google search returned nothing. I asked my local barber and he uses disposable. Where can I get my razor sharpened? Is there a store, preferably in New Jersey that I could go to?
thanks
Ed

Thanked: 0No, THIS is a stupid question...
...so, when you say "Honemeister," is that the word you look up in the Yellow Pages? I keep reading people saying, "Look up a local honemeister," and I'm like is that what it's called?
Sorry, just curious.

For as lovely, friendly, informative and rational a group this seems to be here, straight razor shaving for the rest of the world is still an exercise in suicidal tendencies practiced by inbreed mutants possibly left here from another species from another planet. You probably will not find much out there. Fortunately you have already hit the mother lode if you follow the advice and link to Member Services - Straight Razor Place Classifieds

"Honemiester" is a word we use here on this forum to describe someone who hones straightrazors for others . You won't find them in the phone book , but you will find them here on this forum . Honing a straight razor is a speicalized skill with a very limited demand . Most , if not all commercial honing and sharpening services know nothing about honing straightrazors . And I think most of us who shave with straights eventuly learn to hone our own razors .
Greetings , from Dundalk , Maryland . The place where normal people , fear to go .
