I will try to build a better lather. Maybe it wasn't thick enough or maybe I didn't work it into the skin enough.

I will also try to stretch the skin more and play with the angles. I'll also try less passes so it doesn't burn my face. So it doesn't sound like there is a problem with the blade?

After we get done tweaking you we will work on the razor if need be.

    Sounds good. Thank you!!

I'll give it a go again tomorrow evening and report on my progress. I would rather work at it in the evening so I am not rushed and can take my time.

Here is a piece of sage advice (can't remember who said it) that I always loved, but think it thorugh...

You actually have to get 3 things to happens perfectly in sync, to get a great shave, the edge, the hair, and the skin, all have to meet at the same time, and place, at the right angle, to get a smooth shave..... Much of this is done for you using your fusion but using a straight you have to learn to do this yourself.....

Sounds kinda hard to learn, but trust us, once you do, oh Man !!! it is grand....

OK just finished my second shave.

Much, much better than the first go around. Less "skipping and digging" into my face, but it was still there, did not glide smoothly, but better than the first shave. I did a bunch of research on the message board and read everything about lathering. I found an excellent post on how to form a good lather and used it. Lather was much thicker and uniform then the first go around. I also read about stropping. What I did this time is 30 on linen and 60-70 on the leather side. I think using the linen helped a bit.

My only problem is that is takes at least 2-3 passes WTG and 3-6 ATG. Maybe it will improve in time. I do have an almost BBS at the moment, besides a few areas. I didn't mention before that I have a goatee which makes thinks easier I think. So far my face feels good with little irritation. Nivea aftershave balm works pretty good!

I won a unused Swaty Alumin on eBay that I will be using when it arrives. I have a very coarse beard and it is probably wreaking havoc on the new blade. I will probably have to touch up the blade more than the normal person. I probably paid more than it's worth but I think it will be good to go. Here is the auction:

SWATY 3 LINE BARBER HONE UNUSED - eBay (item 190283822686 end time Feb-07-09 20:19:56 PST)

I did order some Cr Ox but I don't think I will be using it. From what I've read I will use the linen (plain) with the leather for stropping and the Swaty when the blade needs it. What do you think?

Thanks again for all of your help
