    Default New Guy in Austin

I ordered an Original Wapi and strop from Ruprazor, I had been using soap and brush for a couple of weeks now, with my plastic setup. When I received the razor today, I felt queasy, shave with it, I don't know. After a hot bath, I gave it a go, easier than i thought, no blood, my jawline and tip of my chin needed another pass. Well, not the best shave ever, not yet. Thanks Ya'll, for silent encouragement.

Van de Hagen deluxe soap and brush, Nivea aftershave.

Welcome, congrats on your first straight shave. Here is a good post on getting the feel for it and here are some videos that will help too. The SRP Wiki in the toolbar above has a lot of good info to get you shaving smooth in no time.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Sounds highly successful for a first time! I'd be happy with that.

Welcome to SRP. Read through the Wiki and the forums, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

I suggest you start by shaving just the area between the jawline and sideburn, and WTG only. Get used to the feel of the razor in your hands and against your face. Learn the angles and manipulations before moving on to other areas of your face, and XG and AGT. It won't take long. But there is a learning curve to it. It would also be a good investment to get a copy of Lynn's CD. I still refer to it...
