Vintage Strop
Hello all,
I recently purchased a Keen Kutter razor stop No.205 Patented in 1892 off of ebay. It is somewhat dirty on the edges as you can see in the pictures. My question is, should I clean it up a bit to use it? Or should I leave it as is and use it? Or leave it as is and put it away for safe keeping? Tell me what you all think, suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for your time.

That strop would make a great display piece however as a working strop I'm afraid its seen its better days. Unless my eyes deceive me it appears to be missing pieces and have major abrasions. You need more that just cleaning on that baby. If you want to clean it up I would recommend some lexol or bick leather cleaner followed by similar leather conditioner.

I have to agree withe bigspendur, it looks like the leather is falling apart. If thats not the case, cleanit up and use it.
