New razors
Hey guys,
I just got my hands on some straights and want to start to use them. My issue is that I don't know how to get them up to par for their first shaves. I've done my homework and know how it's done, and I bought a hone (haven't gotten a strop yet) but I understand that it's better to have someone who knows what's going on take care of the first maintenance work.
I'm in Vancouver, Canada and wondered if anyone knew of anywhere that could help me out/if any members could help.
Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks!
Brock

I would recommend that you pick up one of Lynn's DVDs. It contains over 3 hours of very informative info about the care and use of straights including great honing, stropping and shaving demos.
The DVD is available in the classifieds as well as at Straight Razor Designs.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the help.
It's not often I meet another Brock either. In fact, it's a rare occasion indeed.
Pleasure to meet you.
Anyway, it's time to get to work on these blades.

Welcome, Brock
I'm in Vancouver. My hones are out of commission, but my skills should be good. I might be able to help you out. PM me and tell me exactly what you've got, where you got them and what's been done to them if anything and we'll see what can be done.
