    I was talking to Robert Williams (Papabull on the forum) and he said it is good to use on the iron......... at least I think that was what he said ......... old age y'know.

    I don't know about WD-40. As I understand it its main claim to fame is that it displaces water. I have used it on razors with dried accumulated grease and it works great for that.
