Default prolly more of the same - newbie stuff

    So Gents,

I guess these are more of the same other people have asked before, but I'll try my luck.

I seem to have a weird problem with the raw areas of my neck. There are some areas I need to shave because hair grows there however when I go with the stroke it takes some raw areas where no hair grows and all of a sudden I find my self seeing all sorts of lil pieces of skin flying around. Just like when you start peeling after a tan. No pain or blood is involved. Anyone experienced that? Knows what to do? What am I doing wrong??

Also, as far as after shaving goes. I usually put Aqua Velva to close everything off after the splash of cold water and then once that dries I use proraso pre-after shave cream to rub over and moisturize the skin, however I am finding that my skin is dryer than before.... Is proraso pre-after shave not enough? Do you guys use any special moisturizers ? Or maybe my order is incorrect?

    Thanks much!

hmm that peeling skin sounds like something a dermatologist may have to answer.
i think the blade normally scrapes off just the top layers of dead cells and that's usually rather thin unless there's a serious skin damage as from UV as you describe.

i haven't used either AV or proraso, but may be you can try sealing with alum block instead. I think proraso is supposed to be fairly moisturizing but nivea is probably better, somebody was recommending recently a particular nivea product, don't remember where, but check the recent threads in the colognes/aftershaves seciton.

certainly there should not be any skin coming off especially if there is blood and major irritation. You need to figure out how your holding the razor and the angle of attack and the stroke and make some adjustments so you don't hit those areas or are able to skip over them.

    Guys,

We are talking about very little pieces of dry skin particles. It could be from an old tan I had that the straight is peeling off. I'm not sure, but i think its coming from the raw areas of my neck where no hair grows.

As for blood or pain, there is NONE of that.

    Thanks again!
