    Question ? on DOVO trazors

Have seen some Dovo's for sale. Any one heard of Dovo ASTRALE or RASIERMESSER? Are they any good? Both say they are new from old stock but are shave ready. In reading other threads Iv'e noticed it being said a new razor is not truly shave ready. Correct or not? Info and help whould be greatly appriciated because I've got bit by the zeepe cheapo! Thanks guys

Dovo is a good manufacturer of razors and one of the few still in business. Rasiermesser is a German word for razor. Astrale is a series of blades decorated with Zodiac signs. I do not own one but they should be good shavers like all Dovo razors.

Unless the razors were explicitly honed by a honemeister, they will not be shave ready. My brand new Dovo was not. Why don't you visit one of the shops mentioned in the vendor's corner forum and order a shave ready razor that will be guaranteed to shave well?

i agree, you're probably better off getting a razor from one of the vendors who would offer honing service with it. unless you really insist on a model they don't carry, in which case you will probably want to send your razor to be honed.
note that a lot of dovo models share the exact same blade just with different decoration and scales.

Both Dovo and TI make these series of blades for a while and then move on to something else. As long as you know its a Dovo its a quality blade.

Agreed that most new blades are not shave ready. depending on the manufacturer and luck some can be pretty close and some can be pretty far.

Astrale models? Google says online shops have them in stock and command ~$120-$130.
