Thread: Stropping Help

I was curious if when you strop you should hear that schwing!!? (Like it's sharpening) or should you not hear anything. Also when you are going through the motion you want the spine flat on the strop right? If that's the case then you shouldn't be able to hear that schwing correct? any advice?

That "schwing" sound may well be your edge going dull by being rounded because the razor does not lie flat on the strop. But hollow grinds do make a singing sound. The Wiki article has two sound files for comparison purposes.
