Two new acquisitions
Hey all
I've had my first razor for two days and what do I do? Go on eBay and buy two more!! I was looking for a couple cheap razors to test my honing on, as I don't want to ruin my shave ready razor I have now. Anyone have any ideas/advice on the two new ones?

I haven't bought a hone yet but was thinking the Norton 4K/8K. Would that be good to start with? Thanks to all of you have been a great help thus far.

Welcome, jventurini
That's a very good stone, not only to start with, but for the long term as well.

You picked up those razors for pretty good prices! The norton 4000/8000 is certainly a great stone, but you also might want a coarser hone for setting bevels, which you may have to do with the ebay finds. I'm sure you could do it with a norton 4000 (it may take a while), but I just use my norton 1000.

the norton is a good stone, but not enough to hone these razors.
you'll need something coarser.

Hey all
Thanks for the advice and compliments. I figured at the price I couldn't beat it. Anyone know any info on the John Engstrom razor? I haven't been able to find anything on them. And if so why the handle says John Koskinen? Again I appreciate the posts folks, and I'm going to probably pick up a Norton 4K/8K in the near future.
