Thanked: 0LOOM STROPS
Hi guys,
There is the better site to solve problems and doubts. You all are the best. Have a question: I recently purchased a loom strop with green paste on a side ( chromiun oxide I thing is called ). Well, I would like to remove the paste in order to leave the leather free and clean. It's posible to do it ? In positive case, How can a get it? Thanks so much. Best Regards all of you.

I don't have all that much experience, but I would think the abrasive would be embedded in the leather and extremely difficult to remove. And in order to remove it you probably would do some damage to it.

Thanked: 3795Agreed. If you want a strop without ChromeOx, you might want to sell yours to someone who wants ChromeOx and use the funds toward purchasing the new one. That might cost you but any way of removal is going to be hard on both you and the strop.

I have a loom strop that came with clean leather and chrom ox on the linen side. I find the chrom ox side very effective when I want to use it. My main strop is paste/chrom ox free and is a hanging strop. Say all that to say maybe you would find getting another strop for daily use and keeping the loom with the chrom ox for those occasions when you want to use it would be a good idea. I agree with the other posters that getting it out of the leather would be very difficult if not impossible.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
