Unless you have inadvertantly damaged your edge (hitting the faucet, etc...) you don't need to put a new edge on it. You need to refresh the edge. I do that by first going to the pasted strop about every 3 weeks, and then every 3rd time going to my Norton 4K/8K followed by the pasted strop. Others use a barbers hone. Whatever works for you. But you will have to establish some sort of periodic maintenance.
