im newbie too, it just takes time, last nite i got the best shave yet, but skin irritation was kinda hi...its a matter of you and your technique. once you mastered it it will be smooth and easy, but like all good things it takes time. plus errors and nicks cuts ,ect

Thats why I wake up early and shave in the morning.
