    Default First BBS shave!

Today I managed my first BBS shave, with a somewhat dull blade. I need to have it sharpened, because it has started tugging, and I needed to put a little pressure on it...but what a shave I got from it today! I can't stop touching my face...

I wish you the best, but in another day or two you may have an ingrown problem.

Lol, you're right! I have one spot with an ingrown problem today. Is this because I put pressure on the blade?

    Congratulations on your first BBS..

I know nothing about ingrown hairs.. but I think it comes with shaves that are too close..

Your shaves will only get better with a sharp razor..

Its not so much the amount of pressure. When you mentioned dull, and pulling it was a clue. A dull blade does not give you a clean cut of the hair shaft resulting in a mangled end. These ends dig into the follicle as the hair regrows embedding themselves in your skin. The only cure is to help them out. A clean sharp sewing needle, and some antiseptic is the very best that you can do. Start a morning ritual of a hot towel followed by spot checks. Lynn has some tips on nics and ingrown hairs posted in the shaving forum. Don't worry. Its all a part of the program. I recommend that you get your blade honed by a professional honemeister. It will give you point of reference for a sharp blade, as well a truly great shave
