Thanked: 0lots of questions..
Hello, I am interested in learning how to shave men. I have never done this, and have no idea where to begin. I've found precious little on the internet about shaving someone else. Does anyone know if there is a resource for those of us who would like to start up an old, wonderful pastime

Thanked: 1262This barber manual from 1967 has some information in it that may help some.
Do any barber schools still teach shaving?

There is a book in the Wiki and if you go to Archive.com or org, can't remember which and search for barber under the books section there is a 1951 Barber's Manual that details the entire process.
Other than reading. Practice, practice, practice, and read up on your local laws. Some local laws prohibit the use of traditional straights. You have to use a Feather straight razor available from Classic Shaving, and SRD sponsor, as well as other places.
Hope that helps.

I go to Hair M, a local chain, and they teach the ladies there on site how to do shave men. I do not think "beauty schools" go that far. I think they cover shavettes for cleaning up the neck line and stop there.
I gave my stylist a copy of the chapters from the book on how to do the shaving. She had just graduated and was brand new and wanted to learn.
