    Default A nice learning-tool

    Hello,

Since 4 days I shave with a straight razor. One of the most important things to learn is how to strech your skin and hold the razor (and in which hand!) while shaving the different parts of your face. After you've seen and/or heard dozens of tips how to do this, it's a good idea to practice these tips. Now comes the learning-tool tip: I made in about 10 minutes a 1:1 scale cardboard model of a straight razor and this model is perfect for practice - you can't cut yourself for example! This way you can try without blood all kinds of handholding and stretching.

    Bye,

    Bol from Holland

Interesting idea to use for practice. Keep at it, it gets easier and more enjoyable as the shaves go by and you learn more. Jeremy-

I got my first real cut yesterday. Slicing your own throat will make you learn quick, like no cardboard blade can. However, I would have preferred to use your idea.

( In truth, its a minor cut that left a worse mark for a day than it actually was. )
