Default First shave in 20 years...

...with a straight razor, and it all came back to me. Obviously I'm a little out of practice, but all in all a great 1st shave. No nicks or cuts, but I keep a light goatee so I didn't have to shave the really difficult areas. Definitely have to work on the ATG pass for the neck. Thanks to Lynn for honing my blade (new from Vintage Blades). I'll have to get him to hone up my G-dad's old blades. I'm so happy to be rid of my disposable ($20 for 4 blades) I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship!

Congrats. For a minute I thought you would have a 20 year long beard. Now that would have been impressive!

Great! Welcome back to the world of straight razor shaving.

I have the exact same razor, also honed by Lynn, but got it from Straight Razor Designs.

    Hey Medic,

Awesome! We are both in the same category. It has been twenty years since I lost my straight razor (I used it in college), and now am waiting on a whole kit from Vintage - arriving Monday. Sick and tired of the electric, disposable, $$$$$ cartridges . . . I am coming home!

Keep posting - I feel like I have found a kindred spirit!
