I just finished reading a post , which prompted me to write this one .
When you recieve a shave ready razor with oil on the blade , remove the oil with hot water or rubbing alcohol before you strop and shave with it .

I just wipe mine with a kleenex tissue. So far so good.

When I get a new blade (new to me), I wipe off any oil with a towell but then disinfect with the rubbing alchohol. May be overkill but what the hey.

I have a great microfiber towel that I love to use to get the oil off. Then into the rubbing alcohol....

I just rinse it under hot water, then wipe dry.

On a ebay razor, i spray it down with clippercide and let it sit.

Unless it's a thick oil that has solidified, I don't see the need to clean it off at all. Just shave with it as normal.

Sometimes I strop a razor in advance and put (Ballistol) oil on it. Shaving without cleaning the blade works just fine.

depends on where you got the razor from. when i ship mine, they have mineral oil on them. nothing harmful there to the body.
