    Question Bye-bye goatee + a question

So I was shaving tonight and just for the heck of it decided to lose my goatee. I didn't trim it down first so needless to say I was curious whether or not the razor would take it off cleanly. It was like a hot knife through butter, and I was quite surprised given the coarseness of my chin whiskers. I left a small "landing strip" down the curve of the chin over a nasty scar I have there, but the rest of it including the mustache are history.

When doing the ATG pass on the lower lip and chin area, I did something strange without even thinking about it. I held the razor still (sharp side up) and moved my head around it instead. Afterwards I remembered that was the way my Grandfather taught me how to do that section. Does anybody else out there do that, or am I the odd man out?

Anyways, another great shave with only one small nick.

    Mike

    Hey Mike,

I've never tried what you've described, but if it
    works, do it!

I sometimes do that going ATG on the top lip, but don't think I have on my chin.

Maybe that explains why I find my lip so easy and my chin so hard?

I'll give it a try next time.

I've always done that on my upper lip. Next time I will give it a try on my chin.

I've never heard of that but it sounds like something to try. Must not be a lot of people doing it because this is the first I've seen it mentioned on the board.

    Thanks for the idea Mike.
