Thanked: 1Just saying Hello!
Hello all!
Brand new member here from Calgary, Canada here.
I've been a wet shaver for a bit now and really like it, but feel that I need to challenge myself to something else and think that straight razor shaving is the way to go.
I was wondering if you guys had something called PIF around these parts? It helped me greatly when I was starting out with double edge razor when very nice gentleman sent me a vintage Gillette razor, I used it a bit, got a hang of it and then sent it further to another newbie to try. That's basically what got me hooked as I would be hesitant to actually purchase razor without knowing if it would be my cup of tea.
Anyways, very nice site you got here. Looking forward to many visits.
Cheers.

Welcome to SRP,
There are monthly giveaways which you can sign up for in the General section, I believe. Glen had a razor which he's loaning for few months at a time and perhaps every now and then a member would offer a razor loan/giveaway, but those I assume happen more behind the scenes (at least that's how I've done them).
If you want a challenge this is not a bad one and it's worth buying a good razor and a strop. If it doesn't work out you should be able to recover fairly large fraction of the cost by reselling them.
