Thanked: 156I can't believe I just dropped a razor..........
Nearly a decade of straight shaving under my belt and all I was doing was stropping a razor on my new SRD strop.
Dropped a Columbia razor....
But thats not the worst part. I then caught said razor.
But the razor sliced up my right hand.
And then I dropped the razor again.
So, in the end I still dropped the razor AND I cut up my hand.
The razor is fine, it landed on thick carpeting.

OWW! I'm glad you're still able to type.
And, of course, that the hardware is still OK.
It'll happen to everyone, and I'm not looking forward to it, myself...

Thanked: 156It just bled a lot. Most of the damage is to the right ring finger towards the base. Plus another cut in the palm area, right next to the ring finger. Some paper towels stopped the bleeding and some liquid bandaid gave me dexterity again.

I'm really glad you're not too badly hurt, though cuts are not what I'd call ok.
Also glad the razor is undamaged.
I hate it, that cursed "Argh, dropped it!!!!" reflex. I was sanding a blade last night and through some random accident it started to flip off the table. I reached out and grabbed it without even thinking...THANK GOD I got the tang.

Thanked: 235What do they say about always using a razor with dry hands. Maybe that also refers to drying the blood from your hands. I guess blood on a razor is not only corrosive but also slippery.

I used to sail large boats (44' and up) and learned early to never grab anything that was running away from you (sheets, halyards, etc...). I applied that to knives and other such items.
