A Coticule will work. An Escher or nice Nakayama are both great choices. Actually a cheap Barbers Hone can be fun to play with for refreshing. It calls for 4-6 strokes on most of the instructions when you can find them.
If I have a 8k hone and a 12k hone (±), should I use both everytime my razor start to feel dull?

I think I would recommend trying a .5 diamond something or chromium oxide first for 10 strokes and then strop and test before going to the hone. The next recommendation would be 10 X strokes on the 12K, then the paste and then strop and test.
