Thanked: 151Buying a Razor/Honing
I have recently been reading about certain complaints on the classifieds and razors selling to fast or expensive. To clear one thing up. THere are several good razors on the classifieds now for less than $40 each and are being sold by reliable members. TO the newbie saving money, just look here and don't be shy. A $35 razor honed properly will shave as well as a $135 razor. One member is even offering to hone for free as a means to establish himself as a professional honer. I encourage you. DO NOT go spend $60-$300 razor that does not come shave ready and then get disappointed by the fact is does not shave well. Try the cheap route first, then move up.
On a side note, someone contacted me about honing a new TI. I told them $20. If a new person buys a new razor, I will hone it once for free if they are around the NYC area. So if you happened to be this person, let me know and I will hone it. If not, I highly recommend that you send it to one of the pros here and they will do an outstanding job and you will enjoy this new method of shaving. Otherwise your new $100+ razor is going to be a disappointment.
