    Default Hard Arkansas oil stone

    Hello All, My name Is Van, I am a 50 year old newbee
    This is my first post and am new to straight razors. I have a very old Hard Arkansas oil stone that was my grandfathers. It is 1 7/8 X 5 7/8 and seams to be flat but I can tell it is not perfect. Can I use this stone to hone my razors? Can I use a eze lap diamond stone to flatten it. Any advice would help.

    Welcome to the forum Woody ! You have opened a can of worms . I would reccomend the Norton 4k/8k , for starters .
