Thanked: 0Are there any other Southpaw shavers here?
I'd love to hear about your experiences as a southpaw using a straight razor. I just bought a dovo shaverette, which uses replaceable blades, to start off with and I'm having a bit of trouble, as expected for a newbie. I'm just wondering if there are any other lefties that found it to be a little challenging to make the switch?

Thanked: 234Hi,
There are loads of guys who advocate shaving using both hands, not just your dominant. Infact, I would go as far to say that more use two hands than one.

See here in the Wiki.
It was Glen who put forth the idea, not me.
The first panel with the DD.
My thought was reversed, that's what I get for not keeping straights at work.

I use both. My right hand is my dominate but my left is what I write with.
It takes a while to get the left hand to work but it does and it is just a practice thing.

I am a leftie but use my right hand for writing and lost of stuff. For shaving and stropping it's only left hand, more dexterity and more assurance.
I have developed a technique and it works fine for me, I have a "goatee" so not to much problem to encounter.

Thanked: 74I am right handed, but use both for shaving. I figured that since I was basically learning a new skill, I would teach both hands.
The left hand has cut me more often, but it has smartened up nicely in the past couple of months.
