    Default Hello Straight Razor World!

After lurking around the forums, I finally decided it was time to register when I got my first razor in the mail today. It cuts like a dream! I was hesitant at first to get involved in this expensive endeavor, but there is no looking back now! My first shave was amazing, better than anything I have experienced before. I am actually looking forward to my next shave, which is saying something.
I just wanted to say hello and to thank you all for making this site so helpful to newbies like myself.

welcome, glad you took the plunge.

it doesn't have to be expensive though, a razor and a strop last many lifetimes if properly cared for. quality brushes last at least decades and soap is really cheap - probably less than $10/year.

Hello & congratulations on a flying start! Sounds like it went very well, but take things steady to begin with. You'll get better results, both long & short term.

Welcome aboard. If you have your razor, strop and brush you've already got your big ticket items...

Welcome to SRP and good luck avoiding the acquisition disorders.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I don't think there is much hope of that

    Gugi,

Can you work up one such scenario as an example? That is, a couple of soaps that could keep you in the $10/year range?
