You, Sir, have some nice razors.

Where abouts in the world are you? It might make more sense to send them close than far.

They certainly are quality makers. As for the honemiester, gregs' advice makes good sense.

You can find in the Classifieds->Member Services all the guys who offer honing and restoration. You can see quite a bit of their work on the forum or on their websites. For prices you pm them.
The closest to you is, of course, Max, you may be even able to drop off/pick up.

Of course, if you want to compare various guys' edges the only proper way to do it is buy x*y of the same exact razor and send x of them to each of y honers

Thanks! This city has been good to me so far, it's tuff living as a musician but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Been here 20 years! Having said that, I need to get out of here soon. There's more out there... ya know? Wine, women, music, barbers who don't understand a word I say but deliver the BEST shave ever... that kind of thing.

And thanks to this forum for giving me some ideas on what razors are the ones to aim for. I picked some nice ones, I hope they work out.

I had no idea Max was in vegas. His stuff looks legendary! Think I've found my guy. Thanks for the help!

I don't know that I want to compare this guy's edge to that guy's, just get a feel for someone that shavers here trust and can deliver a consistent edge. Way too many variables to know who's is better, IMO. What's more important is which option works out naturally.

Boy did he ever! I met with Max today and learned so much from him. How to use a loupe for example... makes much more sense now! My biggest problem was judging my honing progress. It is much easier to feel the edge with kitchen knives, but now I know what I am feeling for with the razors. And watching someone put a freakishly sharp edge on my razors had a much larger impact than movies. Especially when watching him strop the razors. He explained everything so well, was patient and kind with my questions, and is in general a really nice guy. Glad I met him, and glad he lives in my town!
Now there's nothing left but to shave. Can't wait!

    He Justin,

it was a pleasure having you over. Anytime.

You're a fast learner and a smart kid. That shows.

Now guys what Justin didn't tell you is that he came with a Geneva, Boker, Fili and MK31... and all in pretty good condition. Now how about that for a newbie starter kit!

And he plays Jazz (double bass)... Maybe he could do a jam session with Alex at the National SRP gathering held in Vegas (hopefully one day... I can only dream )
