    Default New to the site....

    and still kind of new to the straight razor. It's all I wanted this past Christmas and well, I bought her a fiddle ans she (my fiance) got me the razor and everything to get started with it. I took it slow at first but made my way through it. I used to only have to shave my chin and neck anyways, as I had some big ole mutton chops. and then about a month after i got comfy with those areas, i got a new job and had to cut those off. So then i learned how to do the rest of my face as well. haha. I've only had one bad cut so far, and it wasn't awful.
    Everyday I look forward to shaving and it really is a wonderful thing. Its feels like its coming up on honing time, so that will be a fun adventure too, as I am ordering a whetstone tomorrow and will be giving that a shot.

    glad i found this forum and i appreciate all of the information that has been conglomerated here. ill be around...

    Welcome Themedicine; Don't let her fiddle around while your shaving..
    What razor do you have? If you just started and razor is sharp you may not have to go to hones so quickly. Read a lot about it on the forums, before you invest a lot of $$s right off the bat.

    I have a dovo solingen with some crazy castle on it. its numbered 108.

    I have had the thing since december and Ive used it daily since i got it. Brave, i know. So honing is in the present future.

    My siggie is basically something representing what i believe the medicine for life is, which is all things traditional and old-timey. Banjos, side roads, fiddles, home cooked viddles, you get the drift.
