My first straight shave thanks to member, erictski!!
I wanted to post my results from my first straight shave with a PIF'd Dovo Shavette from Erictski.
I decided I need a nice hot bath after spending most of the day working on the house. A cowboy bath, mind you. I tossed out my cigar and made my way into the tub. Got a nice Proraso lather going and got my fog free stand mirror and proceeded to go at it!
Man, I thought I would end up being overly cautious, but I went for broke and managed to take care of things in 4 passes. 3 with, 1 against.
Anyways, no nicks, no cuts, no nothing. Can't say it was a BBS all over cause I didn't want to mess with the inside the jawline area, but everywhere else is smooth. All in all, helluva first shave. Thanks again to member, erictski for his kindness.

If I understand you correctly, that you shaved in the bath tub, then you broke one of the cardinal rules of straight shaving.
Never, ever, shave naked!
There are few things more precious to a man than his straight razor, but when that razor can, in one fell swoop, lop off something that is even more precious than a Livi razor, well sir, naked shaving is just not a good idea!

That actually is incredible.
I was terrified during my first straight shave and was sure that I was going to slice my jugular. I did not do that but did lose a little blood.

Third shave didn't go as well. Had a couple of weepers, but nothing a little DR Harris Arlington and stiff brush could not remedy. Originally Posted by erictski
