    Default Paste strop

What kind of Paste should I get for my wool strop. Also, do I need to buy a leather strop also?

    Default My take

You don't have to put paste on a wool/linen strop. It has enough "roughness" to it to do the job. Some folks do put a light paste (Chromium oxide 0.5 or Dovo white paste), but then it becomes a "touch up" strop rather that one you use every day.

The leather strop is the final step, after the wool. It is smoother and leaves a more comfortable edge. There is a lot more info on the Wiki you should consult.

    Hope this helps.

well it really depends on what edge you're after.
you need leather strop w/o any abrasives on it to strop your razor before every shave.

the ones on straightrazordesigns, vintageblades and thewellshavedgentleman are very good
glen really likes the illinois 827, i've noticed that the quality seems to vary on those.
my personal preference is for the vintage strops that are already broken in, but for getting a good one instead of a junk you need to have some experience, or get one from a member who has it.
of the new strops i like best the premium at srd, but it may be outside of your budget.

    Thanks Gugi

It is not outside of my budget. I did not know which one to get. There are so many different kinds of strops and so many different kinds of leather. Sometines price and quality do not match.
If that is one of the best I will get that one.
