Default Angling on neck, chin and lip

I have seen people say increase the angle on the lip and chin. Do I raise the blade angle so that the back is farther away, thus increasing chance of cut, or do I bring it closer, more likely to rip the hair out?

If you are shaving under the nose do a scoop by rotating the blade and moving it down. Called the fools pass.

    The chin:
From the lip to the chin I use a shallower angle and reciprocate the same angle from the chin to the lip.

Hop that helps. Its kind hard without pics.

I have a full mustache so the lip I can't help you with but on the chin in general I use a very shallow angle, almost flat. If you use a higher angle there you can really dig in which isn't good. As you get to the bottom of the chin and are going around to the upper neck you have to really experiment there. Usually some fast and drastic angle changes are whats needed there.

When I shave the neck I use the flatest angle possible. Especially on the ATG pass where I stroke the razor "upward" on my neck. The spine touches the skin. The higher the angle of the razor, the more chances you can cut yourself and get horrible razor burn.

Ooops, isn't that the coup de maÃtre, or the Master's Pass??? The coup de buffon or Fool's Pass is ATG.
