Thanked: 0Straight Razor, by Max Schuckar
Hello all,
I found a straight razor at a local fleamarkt and got it for 1 euro, it came in a red box from otto busch World Master. The razor itself is by Max schukar and is made( i think) of tortoise. I think this because i searched some on the net and found this; Vintage Straight Razors : T. Hessen Bruch Co : 7/8 : Half Hollow Ground : Faux Tortoise.
Does anyone know the brand Schuckar and have some sort of link for futher info.
thanks in advance

Thanked: 3795Welcome to SRP. Do you intend to use the razor, or sell it? The link you provided was to a website of a forum member, Maximilian.

welcome to srp
Max Sprecher is the guy who owns that website and he didn't make the razor, he cleaned it up and put a new set of scales on it.
Otto Busch is the company that made the razor.
Whether your razor can be fixed for use depends on the condition it is in.

the blade is in rather poor condition. it may be able to shave if a lot of effort is invested in it.
the scales with the schuckar inlay look good though, boxes and scales don't always belong to the blade. it depends on the stamp on the shank.
if i were you i'd discard the blade and reuse the scales on a good blade.
