    Default what to buy?

well, there's an awful lot of info on this site and all of its really helpful. but i can't find an area that gives basic, straightforward info on a good "configuration". now, i have a basic understanding of the term, but i don't know what would be appropriate for a first time newbie (i've checked the newbie's corner).

so here it it is...what will be a good started razor? should i got with the round end or one of the others? full ground? whats extra full ground? is a certain length suitable for beginners? 3 inches? more?

like all my hobbies, i never end up buying just one unit. (2 guitars, 2 bikes, 8 sharpening stones, dozen juggling balls, etc). so a blade suitable for beginners is good and then i can get the feel of it and get a better one later. but whats good for right now?

Doesn't matter. if you have courser hair etc then You may start with WEDGE Blade

i tried myltiquote still didn't get it work. Most razor's are 3 inch long.
you can check classified for cheaper option or you can go to srd for complete set. gl
    hope this helps

Welcome! Give the Wiki a view. 5/8 blades are good starter blades - not too big, not too small.

    Cheers,

First off, welcome to the site. Second, if you haven't seen Lynn's video, give it a viewing. It should have all the information you need. I agree with a 5/8 blade and with the advice that whether it's a full wedge, hollow ground, etc., doesn't really matter. After a while you'll develop your own preferences. Happy shaving!
