Unfortunately not all of us. There are hones and vintage Campagnolo parts as well.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Yes, I would think so. But of course I am not a barber and can't say from experience. I do know that my current barber, who is 75 and only works 2 days a week now, gave me some of his straights because he was tired of using them on himself. He had in the past always traded shaves with another barber just before opening up the shop.

No bet! I did just that this morning, using my 13/16 ERN Extra HG. Took a little longer for the BBS clean-up, an extra XTG pass the opposite direction, and a little more care on the ATG. But the shave is just as good as the Renaissance.
I may have lost track of the thread here. I didn't mean to say it was impossible, just commenting that there were good reasons why barbers could get away with using only FHG blades. They could do a fast, comfortable DFS and move on. Touching up the edge on the FHG was also faster than a wedge, so they could keep them sharp with less time lost.
I enjoy using all my straights, and my vintage and modern DEs from time to time. They all need slightly different approaches, but I don't say it's the tool's fault. You can drive nails with a screwdriver, and you can put in screws with a hammer, but it's easier if you match the technique to the tools and the tools to the problem. If someone finds that a particular tool and technique match their shaving requirements better than the others available, then they will probably favor that set.

No problem. It caused me to explain myself a little better (hopefully).
