Thanked: 293Greetings from sunny Southern New Jersey (not really)!
There is an Art of Shaving on 15th and Walnut in Philadelphia, but I have not been there. However, you could definitely go in there and check out whatever they have in stock. I am almost certain they do not come "shave ready" which means if you pick one up, you'll either have to learn how to hone in a flash, or send it out to one of SRP's honemeisters to make it sharp. I think they stock Theirs-Issard razors which are good quality, but again, you'll need to get it sharpened. $20 is the going rate.
Let us know if you decide to take the plunge. You won't look back.
Cheers,
Ogie
EDIT: And some guys are offering free honing services for newbies, so be sure to see if those are still available if/when you jump in. Good luck.Last edited by Oglethorpe; 07-01-2009 at 01:33 PM.
