Straight shaving is alot like motocross
I say this because both seem to have a steep/painful learning curve. When you first start all you think worry about is nicking/wrecking, but once you get that first bad nick/wreck out of the way then you can really start to progress. I think its more of a "well that wasnt so bad" or an "i lived through that and now i know not to do that again" type thing. after my first nick i started to progress much faster from the sideburns to shaving everything but my chin. The challenge of getting a smooth shave without nicks is what keeps me coming back to my straight.

Very true. Once you clear your first 50+ foot double/triple (aka the chin), you can do anything

Thanked: 3795And with both, no matter how good or experienced you are, you can still do something spectacularly stupid and end up with a scar!

well, i went for that 50' double/triple and nailed it. I got a shave comparable to one with my fusion. didnt get any nicks, and had minimal irritation. i think alot of that irritation is due to my poor stropping skills. its all coming along though.

Keep up the good work. Don't forget to brake when necessary. And remember it's really hard to shave wearing a helmet with a faceshield.

I just got off of my bike and was of course sweating like a lady of ill repute in a house of religion if you know what i mean. I noticed that my face didnt get nearly as irritated as it did when i used a cartridge razor. It burnt a little from the salt in the sweat but i didnt get instant razor bumps and rash like i used to.
