    Default First straight shave

Okay, just managed my first full face straight shave. I've been practicing doing partial shaves, getting used to the feeling, angles etc.
I have also been honing my razors, getting a feeling for what a real edge feels like. So, Dovo bismark, 6/8 blade with bone scales, Norton 4000/8000 and Japanese wetstone (12000), Dovo strop.
Good prep and that blade just floats through stubble like its not there!! WTG only and got a DFS, jeez its close for one pass and with zero irratation to boot.
Just gotta get my technique down to a fine art, lots of patient practice, and i can see why people rave about straights.

Congrats !!! Sounds like you are well on your way. Stay patient and don't "bite off' too much at a time. It takes a bit to master this art but in the end,,,it is well worth it. ENJOY!!
